Strathcona County Transit started service in 1977 under the name of the County of Strathcona Transit System. This was changed in 1989 to Strathcona County Transit. Service was originaly contracted out to Edmonton Transit. The buses were painted like a regular Edmonton Transit bus, except for a Strathcona logo instead of an Edmonton logo. Pacific Western Transportation (a division of Diversified Transportation Ltd.) took over operating of Strathcona County Transit from Edmonton Transit, possibly in 1989. For a system of its size, Strathcona County Transit has operated a very interesting fleet!!
