Edmonton Transit's first new 40' buses purchased since 1982 were low floor buses purchased from New Flyer. The D40LF model buses were #200-242. These buses have suffered premature corrosion, and because of this all of them are being refurbished. #227 was the first one done, and now close to have of them have been done. #214, 243 and 255 were repainted in 1997 to show off the new paint scheme for ETS. #214 also had a Balios destination sign, and was used to help promote ETS's revamped transit system in June 1997. This bus now has its original Luminator sign back. #209, which has been refurbished received a Luminator LED destination sign on the front only, but like on 214 that has been changed back to the original flip dot sign. #200 was delivered ahead of the other buses, so that is it could be used to train drivers. These buses are powered by the Detroit Diesel 6V-92TA engine and ZF 4HP500 transmission.
